First Friends Preschool is an outreach ministry of Trinity Baptist Church. The school focuses on developmentally appropriate activities designed to develop the whole child. Experiences are provided that are suited to the interests and strengths of the child. Students are encouraged to learn through active involvement with people, events and materials.
The curriculum includes language development, math, social/emotional & Bible. Bible stories are presented to further a child's understanding of God's Word.
First Friends is designed for your child’s needs. We are child-centered with learning centers that engage children’s five senses, giving them opportunities to:

First Friends meets the requirements issued by the state of Texas. In addition to the experiences listed above, the kindergarten class offers:
· Expanded phonics
· Emergent reading
· Hands-on science
· Extended math skils
· Social studies—field trips with unit study
Language Development - Pre-literacy: Children are given exposure to print, books, and pre-writing experiences. Phonics: The Letterland curriculum provides an exciting and fun way to learn the sounds of our language which will lead to reading.
Math - Explorations and Math Their Way curriculums are used to introduce a child’s understanding of math skills in their world.
Bible - Bible stories and Bible verses are woven into each day’s activities for character building. Chapel time is scheduled twice a month for the purpose of teaching boys and girls how to follow God and his ways.
Social/Emotional - All children need opportunities to grow socially— to learn how to take turns, share and interact with others. This is perhaps the best benefit of sending your child to preschool.
